How to start the Big Green Egg – Cooking a Spatchcock Chicken

March 23, 2020 by The Head Chef

You bought yourself an outdoor ceramic oven. Whether it is a Big Green Egg, Kamado Joe an Akorn, ect., it can be a bit daunting at first. Honestly it does take practice in learning to regulate the heat. However, once you get the hang of controlling the top and bottom vents, you will never want to cook a piece of meat any other way.

Normally what I like to recommend for those learning to cook on the ceramic oven is to cook something simple. Either a chicken or a pork butt. In this post, I have a video below on how to start the big green egg and how to cook a spatchcock chicken.

Additionally, I will be providing links to amazon on products we currently use with our Big Green Egg. These links are affiliate links and in no way costs you the consumer additional. It does however, help us keep this website up and running. If you should have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

We hope you enjoy and Happy Smoking!
