Never will I ever buy cranberry sauce from a can. Like Ever!
Ok, allow me to confess, I never bought canned cranberry sauce but my mommy dearest sure has and let me tell you that nobody ever ate it. I thought that all cranberry sauces must taste the same. Yummy tin flavor. Blah! So yes, I was definitely wrong. Cranberry sauce really tastes good as long as you make it at home. It was so good that the sauce finished within the week of Thanksgiving. I call that success!!!
The great thing about this recipe is that you can use regular sugar or any sweetener of choice, making it sugar free, keto and diabetic friendly. Just make sure that whatever sweetener you use, it is on power form.
This year, I used Lakanto sweetener that I purchased from Costco. I measured out 1 Cup of Granulated sweetener and then pulsed it to powder form. Once I added it to the mixture and did my own taste testing, I decided on adding an additional tablespoon of sweetener. Again, I pulsed the granulated sweetener into powder form. That extra tablespoon made the mixture perfect! So, my recommendation is start with 1 Cup and see if you need more from there.
The entire process from start to finish took approximately 30 minutes. It was actually quite satisfying watching the cranberries pop. I highly recommend making this recipe. It”s so easy and simple and it’s a world of a difference in taste.
